Postnatal cytogenetic examination A postnatal cytogenetic laboratory provides chromosomal examination of dysfertile married couples and children with inborn development defects. Cytogenetic findings with utilization of G-band method of striped chromosomes are processed by the modern automatic Applied Image analysers. In case a more accurate cytogenetic diagnosis is required, other methods of chromosome coloring or possibly molecular cytogenetic FISH examination may be selected. In indicated cases, further molecular genetic examination by the CGH method is also possible to arrange at the University Hospital.      Sampling for chromosome examination are regularly done on Mondays, in acute cases, fast examination is possible on Tuesdays or Fridays. It is also possible to make a telephone arrangement for blood sampling into heparinized sterile test tubes in the field and sending to our workplace for cultivation. Results of this examination are available within 10 days.
